O’ Appalachia was a celebration of music from Blue Ridge Consort’s home region. This eclectic program featured arrangements of folksongs, R&B, country, shape-note tunes, and original music by composers such as Alice Parker, Reginald Unterseher, Dwight Bigler, and Earlene Rentz. The program was performed on May 4th, 2024, at the First Presbyterian Church of Hickory and was the conclusion of Blue Ridge Consort’s inaugural season in Western North Carolina..

What Sweeter Music was given on December 2, 2023, at the First Baptist Church of Asheville, North Carolina. The program featured winter and holiday selections, both sacred and secular, from across Western music history. Selections included carol arrangements by composers like Elaine Hagenberg, Stephen Paulus, Alice Parker, and Shawn Kirchner alongside original works by William Dawson, Morten Lauridsen, and Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy.

Choral Music of the British Isles

Blue Ridge Consort’s inaugural performance was given at the First Baptist Church of Marion, NC, on October 21, 2023. The performance, titled Choral Music of the British Isles, was a riveting program of selections from the English Renaissance, the Second Golden Age of British Choral Music, and exciting new works from the 21st Century. Works by composers such as Benjamin Britten, Gerald Finzi, Herbert Howells, and Ralph Vaughan Williams were presented before a great audience.
